Who am I?
A trained chef, published author of a solitary autobiographical work titled, ‘The Addict, A life Recovered’, self-appointed culinary Journalist and similarly ‘soi-disant’ essayist, the last an outlet for both my observations and personal experiences of the world, with the somewhat ambitious hope of being able to effect positive changes in how we, human beings, navigate our intrinsic flaws and weaknesses.
But to cut to the chase, since I am conscious of the short attention span of a would-be audience, the construction of this site was originally motivated by my failure to strike a fair publishing deal with an established publishing house for a cook-book I have compiled, the USP of which is that it not only facilitates but also aims to raise the quality of Modern European Cooking in the Indian Home Kitchen.
The site went on to evolve into a workshop for weekly culinary lessons, as both extension and proof of the viability of the cook-book, then further expanded into a library for my essays, travel anecdotes and incisive reviews of restaurants and other culinary establishments from the point of view of a Chef.
In short, I would like for this site to ultimately serve as an entertainment ‘channel’, continuing to expand and evolve just as I hope my own life will, and on that note, I welcome you to the world of DiyaSethi.com
